About the artist
Nelly Tsrylin is a Canadian artist who focuses on creating expressive, colouful pieces, chasing the elusive balance of curious and familiar. Nelly’s fundamental motivation to paint is derived from the surprise element of the open-ended process. The marks she makes are a combination of freedom and intent that add up to a contemporary painting. Her work is a visual response to the experiences she lives through and the accumulation of emotions, translated into colour, shape and gesture. She completed her art training abroad at the classical academy of fine arts in Saint Petersburg, Russia where her family is originally from. Her work has been shown in Toronto galleries and at art fairs abroad.
