About the artist
Originally from Nova Scotia, Emily MacLennan has painted since childhood and studied art and design at NSCAD, graduating with a Bachelor of Design degree. MacLennan came to Toronto in 2006 to work as a graphic designer in the architectural field, then moved to freelance work as she started a family. Taking her immediate surroundings as inspiration, she believes that no subject is too mundane to be expressed in a visually intriguing way.
